Going by the trends published in business media, the demand for baby products seldom drops from its already high levels. On the contrary, it is always on the rise. The fact is that parents are as concerned about baby safety as they are about buying cutely designed products with pleasing colors.  Most of the manufacturers are on to this underlying need of parents and continuously develop new designs and styles that are in keeping with the latest guidelines on baby safety.

Crib bedding is probably the most useful of all baby products. Since the baby is likely to spend more time in the crib than outside it, it only seems logical. That is probably the reason why most manufacturers look for professional designers to create new designs and themes to meet changing and increasing customer demands. From standalone designs to customized crib beddings that match nursery colors and themes, there is a flood of baby blankets, comforters and sheets in local and online stores.

A lot of attention has been paid to the risk that loose bedding items in the crib pose for the baby. Sleepsacks and wearable blankets are replacing traditional blankets, and parents are more cautious about keeping cover sheets, stuffed toys and pillows in the crib. One of the less talked about item of baby bedding is probably the sheets that are used over the mattress. There is hardly any other alternative to sheets.

Crib sheets that get crumpled or pulled over the mattress by the baby’s arm and leg movements can be risky. Once the baby gains some strength (and believe me, they do that faster than you can imagine), an improperly fitted crib sheet will come loose. This loose sheet can pose a risk similar to loose sheets used to cover the baby for keeping it warm.
