The Role Baby Hooded Towels Play in the Baby Bath Routine

Giving your baby a bath should be a pleasure for both the baby and the parents. It is also essential to ensure that the first few experiences that the baby has in the bath should be enjoyable. This will definitely ensure that the baby will love to have a bath everyday when he grows older. The increased activity almost always makes the baby want to sleep after a bath.

A daily bath for a baby is essential as soon as he is old enough to crawl. This is understandable because while crawling, the baby is likely to pick up dirt and germs through the day. Although your motherly instincts are the best guide, some tips that should be followed during a bath can go a long way in making it an experience that he will want to have repeatedly:

  • Put all the bath accessories together in one place, near the baby bath tub.
  • Ensure that the room is warm and that there is no chance of a draft.
  • Fill the bath with a few inches of warm water, preferably at a comfortable 90 degrees Fahrenheit. For older babies, the water can be waist high (in sitting position) but never more than that. It’s important never to leave your baby unattended in the bath.
  • Undress your baby near the bath and slowly slip him in, all the while supporting the head and neck with one hand.
  • Preferably make a soap and water solution in a separate mug and wash the baby with a sponge or a washcloth with the free hand.
  • Wash scalp with a wet soapy cloth and the face and eyes with moist cotton ball.
  • Wash the diaper area and rinse the baby thoroughly.
  • Wrap your baby in a dry towel and pat him dry.

Following these simple rules can ensure that the baby never gets overwhelmed with too much water. Water that is too hot or too cold can also make the baby uncomfortable or even scald the baby. Checking the water temperature is essential before you begin the bath.

A hooded baby towel can be very useful during a baby bath routine. A baby’s skin is tender and, unlike adults, is unable to withstand the unpredictability of the environment, pollutants and chemicals. As soon as you take the baby out of the warm water, you should cover him from head to toe with a hooded towel. A hooded towel is better because it helps in covering the head along with the body which will help in keeping colds away.

To protect your baby from the harmful effects of chemicals and synthetic fabrics, it is recommended that you use organic products only. Hooded baby towels made from organic cotton tend to be a bit expensive but considering the harm that synthetic materials can cause, they are good value for money. Your baby will outgrow a baby towel sooner than you think. You can save money by choosing a hooded toddler bath towel even if it feels slightly larger for your small baby. The toddler bath towel will last longer.
