Become an Eco Mom with Organic Hooded Towels and Other Organic Bath Products

Protecting our planet does not necessarily mean that you have to install a wind turbine or a solar heater. The percentages may vary from country to country, but it is estimated that 40% of carbon emissions are a direct result of what we do as individuals.

Parents have a vested interest in the wellbeing of their children. You, as a mom, can do your own part to shrink the carbon footprint of your family. Your choice of what you buy can be your contribution to the global effort. Additionally, your choices can be instrumental in strengthening the immune system of your baby to effectively combat the attacks of viruses and bacteria.

Parents are a prime target of advertisers, and the maximum amount of freebies and coupons are offered on baby products. Parents are often lured by cute looking toys, clothing, sheets and towels and the attraction is so great that the health aspect at times gets neglected.

While “reduce, reuse, and recycle” is the best slogan for an eco-friendly attitude, parents are expectedly more eager to buy new things for a newborn. Here are some eco-friendly choices for shopping for your baby:

  • Keep away from disposable products including diapers. They simply end up in landfills after use, and do not decompose for a long time.
  • Cut down on packaging and buy in bulk - it is also cheaper that way.
  • While choosing wooden items, like cribs and chairs, look for those made of trees grown in sustainable forests and avoid tropical hardwood.
  • For fabrics, sheets and towels, select those that are manufactured from organic cotton or wool.

Bath accessories make a lot of difference to the overall health of your baby. Your baby’s tender skin comes into direct contact with a towel after every bath. A harmless-looking hooded bath towel can do a lot of harm to your baby if it contains synthetic materials that give out harmful emissions if they come in contact with household mold and mildew. Buying ‘organic’ is not a passing fad but a part of a global campaign to improve the health of our planet.

Finding good organic soaps, moisturizers, baby oils and towels that do not have any synthetic content is not a difficult task any more. There is no shortage of stores, online and otherwise, that sell only certified organic baby products such as organic soap, organic bedcovers, organic mattresses and organic hooded toddler bath towels, and other baby products.
