Baby Towels – A Key Essential in
Your Bath Accessory List

Your baby is ready for a proper bath only after the area around the umbilical cord heals completely. Until that time, it is recommended that only sponge be used since water may cause infection. Bathing your baby may appear to be one of the most difficult jobs of being a mother, but a little bit of preparation can make the first bath an enjoyable one for you and your baby.

Make sure that you have all of the supplies that you may need close at hand. This includes the soap, sponge, warm water, an extra tub of clean water to rinse, and the towel. The towel is one accessory that tends to be forgotten very often and care should be taken to remember it particularly since you do not want to search frantically for it when the baby is wet.

Do not underestimate the baby’s ability to learn even though language has yet not been established. Babies learn from experience and if you talk as you go along and mention what comes up next, it will help. Make sure to follow the same ritual so that the baby knows what’s coming up next.

Babies tend to catch a cold much faster than adults; therefore it is important that the water temperature and the room temperature be moderated at a comfortable level. Don’t allow a draft to reach her before she is thoroughly dry.

Due to these reasons, a good baby towel is essential during every bath that you give your baby. Ideally, a baby towel should be large enough to cover the baby completely. If possible, a hooded towel is better since it covers the head too.

Propping up your baby in the bath and holding her there may be easy while in the tub, but babies tend to get slippery when they are wet. A good baby towel is what will ensure a dry and firm grip on the baby once she is ready to be taken out of the bath.

While all the baby towels that you will see in on market will be soft to touch, there are only a few that will stand up to repeated washings. Further, baby towels of different quality absorb different amounts of water, too.

While buying baby towels, make sure you are buying those made from organic cotton. These are a healthier option and soak water more efficiently too. Buying organic does not mean that you have limited choices. There are many organic towels available on the Internet with different patterns, colors and motifs. In fact, the market is now more conscious of consumer preferences, and baby products that are safe and beautiful are the order of the day.

Most baby products are bought knowing that the baby will outgrow these products soon. And sure enough, your baby will soon outgrow the baby towel too. A toddler bath towel made of organic cotton is a better choice. Organic cotton towels use only organic fiber and no harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process.
